What to Expect
What should I wear?
Clothes. That’s our only request. We are much more concerned about what’s going on inside of a person, than what they are wearing on the outside. Some of our folks dress up, but most show up in jeans. So don't worry about it. Just come as you are.
What's the music like?
We don’t own a pipe organ. We're not that old school. But then again, we aren't in a cutting edge city either. Our music runs right down the middle. Some classic oldies, some newer ones. Our goal with our music is ultimately to be singing songs that enable us to say, "Thank You!" to our Lord and Savior Jesus.
Will I be asked to give money?
Every week we take up an offering. However, if it's your first time with us, you are in no way obligated to give. It's entirely your choice. More than anything we just want to help you find a place to connect with God. If you want to call Connection Church your church home, then we believe giving financially to God and His church is the right thing to do as part of the family.
What is the overall environment like?
We are definitely a friendly bunch here at Connection Church. We strive to make you feel welcome and help you connect with God. We understand that going to any place new can be uncomfortable, that's why we try very hard to help you feel at home while you're with us at Connection Church.
WILL I BE SINGLED OUT IN ANY WAY BECAUSE I'M NEW?
You don't want to feel awkward. We get that.
Being singled out in church is weird. We won't do that to you. All we ask is that you fill out some basic information about yourself on the Connection Card that will be in your bulletin. And don't worry about that either. We're not going to bombard you with junk mail and phone calls pressuring you to come back. When you fill out the Connection Card for the first time, all you'll get is a Welcome Bag and a quick note in the mail. After that, we'd also like to follow up with a letter, or email to say thanks for coming and to let you know how good it was having you with us.
WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?
Do my kids sit with me?
We have our nursery staffed by loving volunteers who, just like you, want the best for your children. You can drop them off at the nursery, or if you like, keep them with you during the service.
Your non-nursery aged kids will start out sitting with you during church. Shortly after worship begins they will be dismissed to our kids area which we call Kids Connection.
